Re: ENOUGH! - managing unwanted threads
I'm chiming in with another "me too"... I don't always read these
threads as they develop,
but I save them after editing out the external commentary! I've learned
a lot from them, and hope they continue.
I have two ways of managing threads using Netscape browser that may help
others. This doesn't work with digests!
METHOD #1 - AUTOMATICALLY FILTER INCOMING MESSAGES AND REDIRECT TO SUB
FOLDERS
I send all ridecamp email to a mail folder named RideCamp by doing the
following:
From the banner menu Edit > Message Filters
In the form, select "New", and give a filter name & set up to "Match any
of the following"
The "To" of the message contains ridecamp@endurance.net (pick "More"),
or the "CC" of the message contains ridecamp@endurance.net (pick
"More"), or the "Sender" of the message contains ridecamp@endurance.net
(pick "More"), then move to folder (identify the folder - for me it's
Inbox > Ridecamp)
I put in place "temporary" filters to move threads to sub folders by
using "Subject" as the filter trigger. If I have no interest, it goes
directly into the trash!!! I did this with the dogs threads.... I love
dogs, but it wasn't a thread I wanted to follow.
METHOD 2 - ORGANIZE BY THREAD, INTERACTIVELY SELECT THE THREAD AND
DELETE IT
If you use later Netscape browsers, you can organize messages by thread,
can select the entire thread by pressing the ctrl/shift/a keys
simultaneously, and delete it.
