That reminds me of when I fox hunted regularly. Faster hunt members would call
out "Pass right" or "Pass left". Also, when they saw a hazard, they'd call out
"'Ware right" (aka Beware on the right) r "'Ware left". As they were usually
ahead quite a ways, they would also LOOK that direction with their head and point
with the arm on the side of the hazard. It almost looked as if they were bowing.
Even if you were a good ways back, you knew there was a hole or root or something
else to avoid.
I've done that on endurance rides and folks don't seem to know what I mean.
