Re: RC: Oh boy, I'm joining the great dog debate...
I have my endurance horse trained to chase dogs if they come out after us. I
used to ride with a german shepard who I could command to ditch and the dog
would lie down in the ditch till I told her to heel again. I did this so that
she was safe when we met traffic on the roads or if other dogs would come out
barking I would command her to ditch and then chase away the offending hound
or hounds. I like dogs but do not take them to rides as they stay home and
watch the farm, but I enjoy most peoples dogs at a ride. I would never worry
about a dog spooking my horse. If my horse was scared of dogs how could I
expect him to deal with wildlife when we came across it.
