LD
Kerry,
Thant's terrible that the ride you were on wouldn't even announce
results for the LD! I'm a competitive rider myself (40 in one day is
more than enough for me), and while I have a huge amount of respect for
the horses and riders who do 50 and 100 miles, I agree the LD should be
given its rightful respect as well. 25 miles on a tough trail is harder
than 50 on an easy one, in some cases (depending on conditions).. I
don't know where you're from, but you'd hear a different story if you
competed in Ohio. We recognize our LD riders -- I've worked enough
endurance rides to know. I congratulate you, even if the ride
management didn't! (And I know ride management is stressful; I've done
that too, but let's give credit where credit id due.)
Mickie
