I know we have discussed this before and as much as I like the sound of
"free", I think that juniors should pay something...if there is a
hardship there, perhaps they can perform some work duties at the ride.
However, I believe it is a valuable thing for my daughter to have to
work for the privilege to ride...in fact, she is working weekends
cleaning rabbit pans (100!) and cleaning stalls (for minis, so not big
poop here) but she is helping pay for her new endurance horse $10 and
$20 a week... eventually she will pay him off and in the meantime, she
will have to make sure she saves enough money for her ride fees. I
would not deny her the chance to ride if she didn't have $20 (she is
working her butt off) but I would rather cough up the $20 myself than
see a ride manager suffer any problems or losses that might discourage
them from having another ride!! God Bless Ride Managers!
