Re: RC: protective pads for saddle pads
I bought the pad last fall. Haven't had a lot of experience with it yet,
however, I rode 35 miles last weekend. (OK, in Michigan, in the winter, that's
a lot).
There was no heat, as a matter of fact, under the pad was not wet. It is
supposed to keep the horse cooler under the saddle. It is supposed to keep
your pad cleaner (although that is not a priority for me). Since the horses
have been shedding, the hair has been coming through the pad. "Stuff"
underneath the pad is not supposed to rub on the pad. Seems to work (Bad girl,
I put it on a sandy horse to test this theory)
I ride in an Ortho-flex and it prevented hair rubbing, which I get in the
winter 'cause I walk a lot. Overall, it seems good. But, I will try it more
as the season approaches. I'll let you know.
