Hi Susie:  It all depends upon your horse.  There are lots of variables and 
of course no simple yes or no answer.  If you are just going out for a nice 
easy trail or limited distance ride say of 20-30 miles or less, then you 
probably don't need to worry about it very much, unless your horse has been 
standing in the mud and muck or snow this winter and has soft heel 
bulbs.  If you are doing a longer distance ride or a multiday ride then 
using the vetwrap can and does alleviate a lot of the problems that most 
people have with easyboots.

In my case I use the vetwrap not only to protect the horses heel bulb, but 
also to protect the hoof wall from being scratched up from the metal teeth 
in the boot.  Again, that may or may not be something that is of concern to 
you.  I ride a lot of miles in easyboots and so for me it is necessary.
