Re: keeping weight on
Hi all, thanks for all the responses - I've printed them
out. Maybe I should bind them and sell them :-)
Several of you mentioned LMF and before anyone else in the
SE gets excited about this product - don't <g> cuz we can't
get it here. It was formulated for the Western US (based on
their available roughage, etc) and that's where it's sold.
Dunno if they are planning on anything like that for the
east or not
*However* the folks at KY Equine Research (1-800-772-1988)
were very nice and, after I explained my saga to them they
sent me to the guy that actually came up with LMF a Dr.
Duren (sp?) who then directed me to their rep at a local
mill. So....if you are interested in using one of their
products and live in the East they are helpful but you won't
be able to get this LMF the westerners are raving about.
The immediate plan is to
1. add some pelleted feed to his ration
2. add corn oil to his feed
3. make an appt with an equine dentist
4. have his blood analyzed to make sure there's not just a
simple <g> answer to all of this.
Thanks - the discussions have been interesting even tho
Susan's formula for energy expenditure post this morning did
make my eyes glaze over jsut a tad <VBG>. I'm so glad there
are folks like her that get excited over stuff like that so
mere mortals like me can do a better job of feeding :-))
