Hi All,
I thought I posted this a couple weeks
ago, but it never showed up so here it
is again. Hope it's not duplicated.
I understand the AERC's need to sanction
all rides at all distances. I also
think tracking miles for rides less than
25 miles is not exactly what the AERC is
about. I think maybe we need both. I
think maybe we need a 3rd definition.
1) LD Rides are defined as rides not
less than 25 miles.
2) All rides in conjunction with AERC
Endurance rides need to be sanctioned
with the AERC and run under AERC rules.
3) Rides less than 25 miles are not
classified as "rides" but as "clinics".
They are run the same as an AERC ride,
but they are defined as "clinics".
4) Non member fees do not apply to
"clinics".
5) Mileage, time, and placements are
not tracked for "clinics". (who would
expect mileage, time or placement for a
clinic?)
Perhaps something like this can takecare
of the problem of "short" LD rides?
Just an idea...
