You're definitely not alone in your taste for Ara-Appaloosas! I'm
looking around for a sporthorse type Appy stallion to cross on my
Spanish/Egyptian mare in the next few years. The big problem seems to
be the proliferation of the heavy QH body build in most Apps nowadays.
It doesn't make sense to breed heavily built horses to lighter types.
I've seen quite a few of the mishappen individuals from such breedings
and it's enough to make me think the "breed like to like" oldtimers'
saying has some merit <g> >>
There are some VERY nice Sporthorse type Appy's in Virginia... I live in CA,
and have a TB mare I want to breed to one of these handsome guys.... AI
(artificial insemination) is the route I'll be using.... and it is OK with
the Appy Registry...
Here is the info on the people that own the horses... I have seen the
videos... and was impressed!
