Everyone falls off once in a while, right?

I was majorly embarassed yesterday when I got dumped by Winza. I haven't
fallen off a horse since... I can't even remember when. My girlfriend and I
were riding along the trails by our barn yesterday and as we were trotting
in the direction of the barn I noticed two kids in a tree fort just past a
small rolling mound/hill in the trail. I could tell Winza was nervous but I
was feeling a sigh of relief that these were just kids and not guys on
motorcycles like we usualy come across.
Winza was halfway up the mound when he spun around so hard and fast to get
away from the monsters in the tree that I flew right out of the saddle, I
didn't even have a chance to react. The only thing I instinctively did was
to keep my deathgrip hold on the reins because I knew I would never catch
him again once he started running. I don't remember what happened but my
girlfriend said I barely touched a knee (I think it was a butt cheek
actually!) to the ground before I was on my feet, still holding Winza's
reins. I walked Winza past the kids, got back on and we continued our ride.
I was embarassed to come off my horse but excited that my reflexes were so
fast that before I knew I was out of the saddle I was standing beside Winza
holding on to the reins! Falling off is what I get for being so lax on him
and bragging to my girlfriend how, "His spooks are getting smaller!"
Does anyone else have stories of landing on their feet (or close there
after) before they even knew what was happening?
I am in serious need of painkillers today though....

I used to dream of owning a flashy chesnut or bright bay, perhaps even a
shining black, but when my perfect horse came in a never-to-be-clean
white... I shrugged and realized the meaning of "A good horse is never a
bad color".
