Just read a post about " listening" for sand in the gut. If you suspect
you have a problem with sand a very simple way to tell is to, obtain a
clean fresh manure sample, put it in a clear glass jar and add water.
Shake the jar until the manure is dissolved and then allow to settle.
The sand (if present) will quickly settle at the bottom of the jar and
will be clearly visable.
