After reading Windy's great posts on getting started, I hope some the
newcomers to the list are getting one main point - It's all really kind of a
crapshoot :-)) Well, maybe that's kind of harsh but it is all *so* different
for each horse and rider. There are as many programs for getting a horse
ready as there are horses you'll find out.
This kind of info provides a great starting or reference point upon which
you can build and modify as you gain experience or see the need to make changes.
It also helps to not only read books that have been out on the market for a
while but especially newer information from magazines, regional newsletters,
etc...because there is a BIG difference in the recommended way of
conditioning in books written much earlier in the sport than what you see now.
