Hi All:
During the early months of training & the first few rides, there were
several who were wondering what they could do to be less sore. At that time
I had just begun water aerobics, & was hoping I might finally have some of
that answer. But I felt I needed to wait until I had done some distance.
Over the Memorial Day week-end Shadow & I completed Bear Creek I & II (50
miles each day). I am very pleased to say that I was much less sore than I
was last time I did back to back 50's. For those of us who have joint
problems, the water aerobics is a wonderful way to get your heart rate going
without doing further damage to the joints - in my case it is knees.
As to the Animal Rights activists - if we DO NOT stick together as an
equestrian group, the activists will chip away at what ever they think is
the weakest link & as soon as they are successful in shuting down that area
- they will target another. We in the endurance area may not see our sport
curtailed in our lifetime, or even in our childrens lifetime. But I do
believe the activists WILL at some point try to get out sport stopped. We
must not ignore their efforts anywhere.
Hope to meet more of you at ROC this year. Happy Riding to All.
