HENRY CREEK HOOFBEATS
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Henry Creek Hoofbeat endurance ride scheduled for Sunday May 26, 1996
has
incurred a few problems and will not be held on that date. We are trying to
reschedule this ride for the 22 of June, weather, availability of vets and
the creeks
going down permitting.
Our record snow pack that is now melting fast (135% of normal), two inches
of rain,
mud on the roads and trails and poor forecasts from the weather bureau have
all
contributed to the decision that it would not be wise to hold our ride as
scheduled.
The trail crosses several creeks that are now in flood stage, the route also
traverses many miles of private land (Boise Cascade Corp) and State
Endowment
Lands. In the interests of preserving these trails it would be unwise to put
our ride
on with the possibility of causing considerable damage to the land because
of
saturated conditions.
We apologize to all riders for this inconvenience and will do our best to
get the ride
rescheduled. Please let all your non-@ friends know about this. We welcome
any
comments and/or responses to our cancellation/rescheduling.
