Through the years my mother and I have done just about everything you can do
with a horse. Basic trail riding, showing, jumping etc. But never have I met
the quality of people than that "do" endurance. There is not a thing that
they won't do to help you.
My mother (Susan Kasemeyer) suffered a mild heart attack at the Million
Pines ride on the 13th. She almost totally blocked the vet check! So
inconsiderate! They were two nurses on the site at the time, they kept her
(and me) calm, called an ambulance and monitored her vital signs.
Samm Bartee. Samm is the best friend anyone could have. Since I was the
only family member there and the hospital was 25 miles away, I had to keep
making trips back and forth. I never had a moments worry about our horses.
Samm and Kathy took over their care and even brought all our stuff back to the
trailer from the vet check. I'm sorry I can't remember Kathy's last name
right now, but she was wonderful.
As mom was kept in CCU for 5 days, we stayed at the home of Wesley and Carol
Crowe. After busting their humps to put on a fabulous ride (as usual) they
put up with me, my stepfather, two horses and one ugly skunk dog. There are
no words to express how much all of your friendship, help and care has meant
to me and my family.
Mom is home and acting back to normal. Hopefully back on trail soon (not
too soon as I now have a pit crew!).
Many thanks to all
