Re: [RC] Figure of 8 - Barbara McCrary

"Bite the Bullet" was a laugh. When I saw the hero's QH stagger across the railroad track at the end of the race, I said, "Aha, 2 cc Rompun, IV", and then when he pulled the saddle and the horse's back was bone dry, but his haunches were foamy, I just laughed out loud. The audience in the theatre all turned around and stared at me like I was crazy.

xtras Wanted Add Your CommentsFor our feature film "FIGURE OF EIGHT" we are looking for participants to be part of this production.
We are looking for Horse Endurance Riders with their Horses / Trailers and support groups .
Our Base camp is the center of the Race and provides for the atmosphere.
On the trail we need Riders and Horses to be extras and compete with our cast. A professional consultant will overlook the endurance race at all times. It will be authentic >>>>>>>>>>and true to the sport.

OK guys, here's your chance to be *stars*. It kills me for them to say "It will be authentic and true to the sport" when they're still planning for it to be a 2 day 200 miles. What's the point of intentionally making it unauthentic? Do they think a one day 100 would be TOO EASY? They need to attend a ride and see how much that takes out of a horse before they insinuate that it would be in any way in the world ethical to do 200!!

Would somebody please tell them 200 miles is ludicrous and will make it a joke to every endurance rider? The last thing I want to see is another movie with a long distance race where the participants are sabataging each other and shoving people off their horses. Can imagine the hero in his bluejeans and big western saddle on his muscle bound horse galloping past the "extras" in their lycra. I'm sure they'll have plenty of shaving cream on the horses ala "Bite the Bullet" :-( Surely somebody out there knows them well enough to help keep it from being a joke?

We provide the space for your rig and horses. Credit / food / make up and professional footage will be provided.

If you are interested , please be able to commit to at least a six day stay with your rig / horse / support group / and of course yourself.

Please provide pictures of your rig / horse / yourself and your support staff for consideration.
