This is so interesting. How can results of
wearing half chaps be so 180 degree opposite for different people. I
simply wouldn't go riding without them and have never had any problem. Is
it human conformation, or ???
It happens to me
every time I ride with them competitively. Not really shin splints
though, not in the true definition of the medical term as explained to me by
my chiropractor. It?s closer to ?flaying the muscle off the bone because
of the side-to-side torque-ing (sp)?. Basically it grabs the muscle and
pulls it around the bone with every stride, then back again. Extremely
painful! My chiropractor has forbidden half chaps. So would my
massage therapist if she knew.

Cindy, Sorry, I should have said half chaps CAN
cause shin splints. I had a very bad experience wearing them. Guess it
only happens to some riders. My personel preference is, less is better.
