There was a hint of ecchymosis on both legs. She trains regularly and the 
only things different was that she had worn higher socks

Josie has a bad time with shin splints. Lynn Kenelly told her to clip the 
elastic on her socks (they come up mid-calf) and it helped. The socks may have 
had some bearing.

I had the worst case I ever had at Vermont. I think all the downhill trotting 
got me there.
