If you ask me, waiting for abject misery before deciding that it is the right time to put a horse down is the equivalent of torturing a horse before you have the decency to kill it. ______________________
Ay ay on that. I just HATE to see any elderly or sick animal forced to live a dragged-out miserable existence because an owner can't let go and keeps 'hoping' that it will get better. A wise vet once told me something that is now my MANTRA when it comes to my beloved animals. She said "It's much kinder to euthanize a week too soon than an hour too late".
