[RC] OT but useful - Opening Office 2007 files in older Office versionslike Excel 2003 - Michael Maul

The formats used in Office 2007 are different than those used in earlier versions of excel, word, etc so you can't open them if you have the older versions.

If you go to

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/ha101686761033.aspx

and download the compatibility pack, you will be able to open the Office 2007 files with your old version of Office as well as save in the new format.

The new format files are ofter about 60% smaller than the old format files.
