The worst case of scratches I've ever seen was on a black QH that  
didn't have a speck of white on her.  So there goes the theory that it  
only happens on white legs.  If you like the horse, buy it.

Frankly, I'm of the opinion that people that don't pick up their  
horses poop in public places are pigs at home.  Common courtesy /  
decency dictates that you pick up after your animals wherever you are  
(and if it's a dog it's the law).  And as I say to my students,  
period, end of discussion.
