Do not let it worry you. My now-retired Arabian, Top Gun, has 3 white stockings/socks and never had scratches. We did 10 yrs of trails in 4 corners area, lots of sand, mud, no problems.

Those who have or have had horses with white socks have not had any more issues with scratches than they've had with horses with no white socks. HURRAY! Now I can get another horse!!! ;-)
