Re: [RC] renaming a horse - Carrie - Kitley, Carrie E Civ USAF AFSPC 30 MDSS/SGSLFI bought a horse for my kids (which is now my husband's) from a dude ranch. He was a string trail horse that didn't quite work out because he threw his head. (He has never done this with with us. Hmmm). Anyway, his name is Gravy. Ok, before you all cringe, we didn't name him that. His name was given at the dude ranch because his buddy was Biscuit. The ranch manager alluded to his name in reference to Gravy Train dog food, which I thought was horribly rude (I never told Gravy this either. Shhhhh). We tried renaming him many times, but nothing else seemed to stick. Gravy he is and Gravy he will always be! We just changed our mindset about the meaning of it so because he is such a good guy, his name is simply "Gravy" like the yummy stuff you put on turkey and mashed potatoes. He he! Who doesn't love GRAVY?!! I think the intent behind a name is more important than the name itself IMHO. :) Carrie All I pay my psychiatrist is the cost of hay, and he'll listen to me all day.? -- Unknown =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
