[RC] Renaming horses - Julie FullerJeez, if there was a rule about not renaming horses, I'd sure be in trouble! I think I have renamed nearly every horse I have ever rescued or bought. Some notables:Lady-Jynxie the Wonder Pony Lady- Troi Shannon- Rayna Calley- Linnea Lucky Lady (cuz she was born Friday the 13th) Natira, Nat for short Xena- Six (Seriously, who names a horse Xena?) Lady- Trudy Roany- Whiskey Lady- Cricket Lady- Sunday Can you see a pattern here? I refuse to call a horse Lady. Flirt- Belanna (This was probably THE MOST ridiculous original name for this horse. Spoiled, pushy mare that bucked like a bronc, was 13.1 hands tall, 950 pounds (NOT fat) had a size 2 foot. Lady-Jesse I've had two appy geldings named Chief. One became Smiley, the other Jackson Princess *rolls eyes* - Vanity Fair, Van for short. Some names that stayed: Sonny (though I later learned his original name was Popcorn. Huh?) Muse (she knows it) Granny (it was the perfect name for her) Tagger (I liked the name, and the pony) Barney- I never changed it, though it certainly didn't fit. He was a hot, hot, hot Hackney driving pony who'd been gelded at age 23. But he knew it and I figured I needed all the help I could get! Names I've always wanted to use: Chomp. I want to get a huge red mule, name it Chomp, and give it to my ex. He once had a nightmare involving such. Piss and Vinegar for a driving team. Also: Vim, Vigor and Vitality for a unicorn hitch (one in front, two in back, while driving) Scout. Della. Fanny. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
