Did I say that? Nope. What I said is that it "might have made the race a safer place". And I have to say, before the UAE offer, I poked around the race website and the various blogs and there wasn't much, if any, veterinary support evident. So maybe it's just a coincidence - people get vocal about being worried and suddenly there's veterinary support? Well I don't care. All's well that ends well in this case - if, in fact, it has ended well (which we don't know, now do we?) First of all - we don't know if it had ran without any changes if it would not have gone the same way. There is not factual proof that any changes made any difference in the outcome. If you want to claim that - show me your proof.. Truman, I didn't say that there was factual proof. I said "might", remember? There's no way to prove it one way or the other. Secondly - this event in Mongolia had absolutely nothing to do with the AERC. It was not an endurance ride as defined by the AERC or FEI. It didn't have anything to do with AERC except that it sure looked like an "endurance" race. You know, one of those events where riders go long distances and get points for being the first one over the line? Different rules but darned similar in the basics. _____________________________________ Lif C.
