Re: [RC] need advice about spooking/bolting - Nancy SturmThe best advice I ever received for my "spooky" Arab was to take him to the nearest hill and work him up and down it until he was drenched, every time he "spooked" at birds flying out of trees, as we passed.I wasn't going to confess to this because I really don't think it is a particularly good training method but the third time my horse did a 180 spin and bolted, I thought "okay baby, you want to run, let's run." We went flying up a hill until he didn't feel like running anymore. He still has some things that scare him, but he has never spun and bolted again.
