Ummm...the same could be said of Western States Trail participants, and yet, we 
still have the Western States Trail Ride and don't tell everybody that if they 
want to negotiate the course that they could revecive just as much glory and 
even more PR by doing the Western States Trail Run instead.

Advocating the abolition of an equine event because you could get just as much 
if not more gratification by doing it on foot isn't an argument that _I_ would 
be making as an endurance rider.

p.s.? MY personal preference is for Ride & Tie as I consider it much more 
gratifying than either....not much PR in it though.
