[RC] Duck, Bob, riding in 1983& Mongol update - Melissa MargettsShoot, you don't have to tell ME how tough you were back in 1983, I know you all rode in JEANS all the time back then with a 1/2 inch seam right down the inside of the legs and crotch rubbing for 50 miles each day for hundreds of miles!Melissa Yep that sounds like a duck ride even today. No need to set any record straight here. He may use a little more tape now though "just so's ya don't get lost and he has to go lookin for your ass so close to dinner time". And it IS amazing how he can get to the steepest narrowest places in that jeep to observe your horse. He sure sounds laid back about criteria as he looks out the window of his rig to give you the OK sign as you do your trot by, or need to walk up close enough so he can take your horses pulse from his lawn chair, but he can SURE spot a tiny hitch to your gait from a half a mile and tell whether it's serious or just a little stiff. Gotta love a Duck ride and I will continue to do them as long as he offers them. Melissa For those who are still interested in the subject, I just got emails from friends in Egypt and Australia to say that with all the International pressure from interest groups, "The Adventurists" and Mercy Corps have announced that they have decided to increase their Veterinary staff and monitoring of the horses. Now all the heated debate in groups from several countries can't be bad if the result ends up being better health and safety for the horses, despite who gets their feelings hurt. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
