The reins I use now are short enough that they don't do
that - but now, of course, when he grazes I have barely
enough rein to hang onto...  sigh.



I had my biothane lady make me a "rein leash" which attached to the reins with 
2 snaps so I could hold onto the reins while grazing and it also makes a good 
"popper" which I don't need on my mare!
