[RC] rein length - k s swigart

Am I missing a reason NOT to get longer reins?

If you are talking about split reins (which it appears Michelle was not, but
I'll address it anyway), a reason not to get them too long is that if they are
too long, they can drag on the ground or get tangled up in the horse's legs if
you aren't holding them so that they don't.

If you are talking about loop reins, a reason not to get them too long is that
the horse is more likely to put its foot through the reins if you aren't
holding them so that they don't.

I like my split reins to be in the ~7' length. I like my loop reins to be in
the ~8' length.?? But both of these things vary depending on the size of the
horse.
