A question for you vets out there - would it not be better for the horse to simply choose another feed than to CHANGE feeds just before an event? I get a little squiggly over that prospect. I hardly change my own SOCKS right before a ride.

To me, the simple answer has been overlooked: Just discontinue feeding the Triple Crown (or any product that contains undesireable contents) at least 96 hours prior to competition. I believe that is the timeframe for substances to pass through the body and not show up on race day. Likewise, this is the procedure for feeding fats, discontinue feeding rice bran and other fats about three days prior to competition, not for "drug" reasons, but for metabolic reasons. Then after arriving home from competition, continue with "normal" diet.
