[RC] SFGate: Horseback ride halted across Golden Gate Bridge - Jeanie

Is this our friend doing a little de-spooking training or just getting
some PR?-- looks vaguely like Traveler? Some people seem so fearless. My
horse would love to make a big scene!

Horseback ride halted across Golden Gate Bridge

A man riding his horse across the Golden Gate Bridge on Sunday evening
didn't get far before the California Highway Patrol stopped him.
The spectacle of horse and rider on San Francisco's famous span slowed
traffic at 6:20 p.m. The rider was heading from Marin to San Francisco in
the sidewalk when the CHP caught up to him.
"We had him turn around and exit the bridge, and he had someone pick him
up with a trailer," said bridge district Sgt. Bill Sangregory.
The CHP said the horse posed a danger to pedestrians and bicyclists who
use the walkway and was a distraction to drivers.
It's not the first time someone tried to use the bridge as a horse trail.
"We had a guy try to get on with a horse and donkey a few years back,"
Sangregory said.
