Re: [RC] CTR as part of AERC? (was: 3-day 100) - Carla RichardsonI can't see any benefit in merging, but I do like it when AERC and NATRC combine their national conventions.? The next convention in Reno in 2010 will be a combined one.?

I think the system is working fine as it is. The nice thing about regional organization it is more responsive to the riders. The AERC has it's hands full dealing with its own issues. If people want to ride CTR that's fine. If they want to ride endurance that's fine. If they want to ride both that's fine. I've ridden at MW rides where both CTR and endurance riders were on the same trail at the same time and it worked just fine. The system is set up just fine right now. CTR is actually quite a bit older than endurance with the FL 3 day 100 going back to the late 1940's if memory serves and it's not the oldest. The only thing I could see happening with the AERC muddling in CTR is messing up something that has evolved well over time.
