Re: [RC] Rider Cards - Truman PrevattThen you don't have good timers and yes you are bound to have mistakes. In the SE there are three timers all in communications. The in timer (who can sometimes serve as the out timer depending on the ride layout), the out timer and the pulse timer. The pulse timer gives the pulse taker the official time to put on the card. They are the people responsible for filling in the times on the cards. However, if there is a discrepancy they go back to their master list. A rider is released to go back on the trail from the out timers list not his or her ride card. The timers maintain the "official time" - that's their job and they do it quite well in the SE.Truman Kathy Mayeda wrote: I think there are equal posibilities for errors on the timers list and the riders card, especially when you have to pulse LD's to criteria after they cross the finish line. -- "There is always a well-known solution to every human problem--neat, plausible, and wrong."
