May I rephrase this as I heard it many years ago;

"A good horse is never a bad color"

I wouldn't paint my ideal horse grey, but I've known some super grey horses. 
Nor is palomino my favorite color, but I've had several I wouldn't trade for 
the world.  Bald faced, deep red chestnut always catches my eye but I've 
only known one that was special, and she was extra special.
Guess it's all in the eye of the beholder.
