Re: [RC] Low Heel & wedge pad - Kathy MayedaI had Beau shimmed about 1/8" on the low foot without a wedge. The farrier was one recommended by Diana Thompson. He used some kind of building material that he cut the shim from - nothing from the farrier supply for it. This was following a pretty major chiropractic adjustment. We went for two cycles with a shim, and then stopped shimming. I don't think any of my competition miles were with a shim. What I found was that the more he was in conditioning and in use, the more even he moved. If I have him pretty inactive like he is now, the uneveness is worse. I never used a wedge myself and was told that it's probably not a good idea. If his shoulders are uneven in height, it maybe worth it to find a chiropractor. But then again, the chiro that did the major adjustment was using a long lever method from Australia and you probably won't get the same results that I did.
