Re: [RC] Pounds of Hay - oddfarmI feed 9 horses between 5-7 bales of hay per day that weigh between 55-70 lbs each. So each horse gets between 30-40 +/- lbs of hay per day. I feed orchard/alfalfa and that is all they get. No suppliments, no bagged feed. (except the 23 year old and what ever horse I take to a ride, in those cases they will get Ultium) It's been working well for the past 12 years or so.When I am at a ride, I will put a whole bale in the pen with the horse that I am riding. If it gets cold at night, they will eat the whole bale, and then drink lots of water. That's a good thing.
