Re: [RC] Desperate Times for Horse Owners and for Horses - Karen SullivanWow....up here in "farm country", Lake County California, between the vet coming out on a ranch call, and the carcass pick up guy....it's about $450. We live in Oldham County, just outside Louisville, Kentucky. There is no ( direct) cost for carcass removal. The county contracts with a company which comes out for many different carcasses including deer, cows, horses. We happen to live between two of my vets biggest clients so he goes past my driveway a couple times a day and does not charge a farm call. The drug charges including tranquilizers were less than $50. Roxanne -------------- Original message from marybenstover <merryben@xxxxxxxxxxx>: -------------- My vet is cheaper than that and San Jose Tallow comes the next morning for you. They will also add their charge to my vet's bill so I don't even have to be there. Their drivers all have cell phones so that you can get them almost 24/7. Their drivers are also very caring and kind and realize how hard it is for the owners to do this. I think the last time I had them come, it was $150.............mb =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
