Fw: [RC] BIting Horse at Ride - Dot WigginsSubject: Re: [RC] BIting Horse at Ride > Drive defensively, ride defensively. I know some riders that made a practice of each carrying a pommel bag filled with horse treats. They made a game out of letting the other horse reach for the bag and then be given a treat. Fine, until the "grabby" horse got to nipping at the rider's nearby knee. And then reaching at any other rider's pommel bag/ knee. After I was nearly bitten I made the following statement, "If your horse reaches for me again, I will smack her. If it happens another time I will hit you" Glad to say it never happened again while I was around, I think they quit it altogether. We are all still friends. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
