Re: [RC] BIting Horse at Ride - recklessheartranch"...What is acceptable "horse space" is generally bigger than people space. A smart horseman knows this..." It is up to humans to teach each and every horse from birth exactly what acceptable behavior is. Each and every horse, without exception, from the moment of birth, must be taught Ed -- while I do agree, and it sure sounds like a great idea, personally I am not going to trust that someone I don't even know is a good enough horse trainer to accomplish this. I've been around horses too long and people even longer, to put my faith (and well-being) into a stranger's hands, especially when it comes to something like this. The vast popularity of the various horse trainers at expos, on tv, etc. testify to the fact that the majority of people who own horses are NOT in fact capable of training them...many times they are barely capable of controlling them. Drive defensively, ride defensively. But, yes, you are right about the reprimand. The owner should have smacked the holy c**p out of that mare...and if she didn't, then the OP should have.
