[RC] nosebands for S-hackamores - Lysane Cree - sherman

I made my own fleece noseband, the fleece is on the bottom only. Another simpler option is a neoprene noseband cover.

I am going to try out an s-hack this weekend and have been thinking a bit about options if I do decide to stick with it. I am almost 100% sure that my mare will be fine in it at home as she is very good about giving to pressure and listens well to light touch, but the first loop of a ride might be a different story. :)

I am keeping the option open though that if it does work well, I could always start in a bit and then go to the s-hack a little later in the ride. Anyway, all that to say, I am wondering about the noseband.

Biothane versus rope. Seems the biothane one would be the kindest option, and not rub face hair, but not sure how much it changes the whoa factor?? Another option is keeping the rope noseband and just covering it with fleece - but I always wondered about putting a piece of fleece over my horse's nose...isn't it going to affect how much she sees directly below and in front of her? She is very good about where she puts her feet, dodging around rocks and stuff on trail and when she needs to she will drop her head a bit and look at stuff (like crossing a pile of rocks or a creek or ditch), so I wouldn't to prevent her from doing that.
