Re: [RC] info on a horse owned by heather Costigan out of eagle point Oregon - Elizabeth Walker
Just my opinion - I know lots of folks do things differently, but if someone had requested I find homes for their horses, and they would not be around to sign papers, I would insist on that permission being in writing - signed and dated. Otherwise, there is no proof that the seller has the authority to sell. In addition, the seller does not have the authority to transfer registration papers, if the mare has them. Without proof of authority to sell the horses, the seller would be at risk for being charged with theft, and any buyers would be at risk of having their horses repossesed if the original owner changed their mind.
If I was the buyer, I would require a copy of the permission to sell accompany a written bill of sale. However, if transfer of registration is involved, the seller cannot do that.

I am going to look at a horse with one of my daughter's friend's and her mother on Sunday
The horses name is Kelsea and her AERC#:H36569 I actually rode a few miles with Heather and this horse at a ride last year and remember it was a nice mare . I happened upon it for sale on craigslist while looking for a endurance horse for a junior, it's for sale by heathers neighbor, She cannot give me a whole lot of info on the horse because she does not know it. She said heather left suddenly and gave her her horses to find home's for. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this mare ( maybe one of heather's friends are on here?) She would be for a 13 yr old beg/inter-med rider for 4-H and endurance rides. I am helping them out and want to make sure she gets the right horse for her, Thanks in advance!!!
