My mare could get them from sand, from dew, from
whatever. I used zinc oxide in competition to keep them at bay.
Tammy's ointment is great stuff too. Right now I am blessed with a fat
pony that hasn't gotten scratches yet. On the other hand, she hasn't
really been ridden far enough to get them either. Maybe by next year I can
put more miles on her fat body and see if she is going to get them.
