[RC] Girthy - sherman

My daughter’s mare gets a flaky rash around her elbows that seems to be caused by a fungus of some type. Athlete’s foot spray on the area clears it up. If she doesn’t currently have it, we just make sure she’s gently scrubbed clean after riding, then apply generic Listerine type mouthwash to prevent it. Don’t know if it really works, seems to, and makes me feel like we’re doing something to prevent it. For any of our horses that is actually sore from the girth I’ve always had the best luck with using a wool girth cover instead of buying new girths.
