However, what helped with Caisson was starting out small -- finding a place where I could put the trailer so that the ramp had a very slight (or no) angle to it, and loading / unloading a few times, then moving to a spot that had a little more angle, etc. You could do something similar with the stepup.The advantage I had with the ramp is that I bought some Lynx Levelors, and I use them each time. It raises the ramp 3 - 4 inches, and gives him less of an angle to deal with, then a 4-inch step down.
