Re: [RC] Spooky Horses - Lynne GlazerIs that Mensa's baby? Fabulous! Is she as tall as so many of the Shagyas seem to be? I agree with you about the "look" in their eye, I'd have a Shagya in a second. If I'd known more about them I might even not have my Twix right now, as the Lipizzans aren't necessarily the ideal endurance mounts, but we're gonna have fun either way.In fact "tall" is the only downside about Shagyas in endurance, for those of us that ride trails that involve a lot of ducking for low branches, or how the horse keeps getting taller by the end of a 50. But whoever was looking for non-spooky horses, Shagyas are ideal. And all that bone, yummy. Look forward to your stories. And pix! I just bought a new horse, hopefully 'the' horse to replace my incredible Jaziret who is getting up there in age. She (a mare!) is 1/2 Arabian, 1/2 Shagya (the sire is actually 1/2 Shagya (by Oman), and 1/2 Lusitano). She's beautiful! Still young (5) and inexperienced, but doesn't seem to be a spooker. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
