Re: [RC] equine ear plugs - Born CountryOkay, just had to jump in here. A few years ago, this subject came up among the members of our local posse, of which I am one. One of the events we participate in is the Fraternal Order of Police March which commemorates all officers fallen in the line of duty. During the ceremony, there is a 21 gun salute. Now it would be bad enough in an open space, but this salute takes place in a courtyard surrounded on all 4 sides by tall buildings. Can we say loud and echoey? The idea of earplugs came up and our captain at the time, an old-timer with some ingenious fixes, told about using tampons as earplugs in some of the events he had been involved in. Of course, the posse, being mainly comprised of ladies, began giggling and commenting about the horses shaking their heads, the "ear plugs" flying and the general conversation went downhill from there. <sigh> Yep, ear plugs.
