[RC] gait anomoly noticed any ideas? - Barbara Moulton

Last week Joy had her first chiro exam. She was found
to have lower neck and some mis alignment to the left.
Her lameness check was inconclusive at the vets- He
thought he could see "something" trotting her out on
big sharp rocks barefoot in the parking lot ( wow was
I proud of how far she has come in 2005 we couldn't
have walked across that) but it wasn't consistant
enough for him to pinpoint it exactly but her right
inner hock was reactive and the Dr thought that could
be referred pain maybe. After her treatment/ajustment
I noticed a quicker walk, better attitude and she can
flex fully to the left now- I made the appointment to
go in when she REFUSED to flex at all to the left and
was worried. I watcher her being ridden yesterday in
the very soft arena and noticed that she sometimes at
the walk about every 8 to 20th step twists her right
hind hoof 1/4 turn under her her before she pushes off
and lifts it. I did not see this at the trot. The
vet suggested maintianing her exercise as he didn't
see enough of anything at the clinic to suggest that
rest or other treatment was called for.
