My neighbor used to race quarter horses on a regular basis and he always used alcohol to cool the horses down at the track as well as many other horse racers. It was just a matter of fact. I don't use it as I use water. Theres been many a time that perhaps I should have. Who knows? It's just a matter of perference. Ginger
